About Kindred Trails, Austin Family Travel Studio

A small Austin studio planning family and group trips since 2015 with one planner from consult to return.

Kindred Trails is a family and friends travel studio based in Austin, Texas, and we have planned group trips since 2015. We are a small team of three planners who handle reunions, multigenerational cruises, honeymoons and anniversary trips. You work with one planner from the first call through the last travel day.

We started the studio after planning trips for our own extended families across Texas and the Gulf Coast. You will find the same habits in every plan we send, with clear prices, written meeting times and backup options. We keep groups small enough that we know each traveler by name.

Three planners, three lanes

Dana Whitaker leads family and group checklists for reunions, Disney World trips and insurance reviews. Priya Raman leads honeymoons, anniversary surprises and celebration travel with dining and timing detail. George Patterson leads cruise logistics, road trips and payment schedules for groups of 8 to 40.

  • Dana Whitaker plans reunions, documents, packing logic and park days.
  • Priya Raman plans honeymoons, anniversaries and group cabin selection.
  • George Patterson plans cruises, Turkey and Vietnam routing plus road trips.
  • You keep the same planner for consult, booking and in trip support.
  • We meet by video or in our Congress Avenue studio in Austin.

We assign your planner after a short intake call about dates, budget and group shape. You will know who answers the phone before any deposit is paid. We never hand your trip to a stranger midstream.

How planning works with us

Our process runs in five stages with written sign offs at each step. You approve the scope before we book anything that carries a penalty. We confirm every vendor in writing and store confirmations where you can open them offline.

  • Consult covers dates, budget range, group mix and travel pace.
  • Proposal shows two scoped options with 2026 prices and trade offs.
  • Booking locks flights, hotels, cabins or houses with deposits of 100 to 250 dollars per person.
  • Pre trip call reviews documents, meeting times and packing 14 days out.
  • In trip support stays on call for delays, illness or vendor changes.

We charge planning fees of 150 to 450 dollars per trip depending on group size and complexity. You see vendor costs and our fee on separate lines before you approve. We stay reachable on travel days for rebooking and schedule shifts.
